TWINKLE

TWINKLE

n August 2021, Koky was tagged on a post that led to one of the most horrendous scenes that she has seen in her time as a rescuer. Under the guise of being a rescuer, a lady basically “collected” over 100 cats. Then the woman left, leaving the cats behind, with no food, water, or care.
Koky went to the hoarder’s home along with several other rescuers. They were horrified by what they saw and the condition that the cats (those that were still alive) were in. Several passed away just in the time that the rescuers were there in the hoarder’s home.
In the end, we took 26 cats. After sending several to foster homes and others to another rescue, Koky brought 17 to the Haven. One of those lucky cats was the lovely Twinkle.
If you take a look at her photos, you’ll be able to see a dramatic change from when she first arrived to the way that she looks now! Her lovely fur has certainly regained some of its luster. I tend to expect that she might become a bit of a fluffball in a colder climate!
This beautiful girl is approximately 2 to 3 years old. She is a gentle, friendly, sweet girl – and actually, according to Koky, calm! (No, seriously, she has a very calm nature).
Surprisingly, no one has yet come forward to offer Twinkle a forever home. This lovely girl does well with other cats as well as with a cat-friendly dog. We expect that she would also get on with respectful children. A household on the calmer side would likely be the best fit for Twinkle given her personality.
Like all of our cats, Twinkle has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated against standard cat diseases and rabies. When she travels, she will do so with her original rabies blood test certificate.
Because she has lived within the safety of the Haven, we would request that Twinkle be able to maintain that level of safety in her forever home, either adopted to someone with a full cat-secured garden (with the special fencing) or catio, or kept as an indoor kitty. Given her experience in the hoarder’s house (and we don’t know how long Twinkle was there), we don’t want her to be permitted to free-roam. She may not understand that vehicles are a hazard; we’ve sadly seen too many of our babies end up with serious injury or worse, even on a quiet cul-de-sac in a residential neighbourhood.
All adoptions are subject to an adoption fee of £195 (or local equivalent) to help pay towards her travel and a successful homecheck, conducted via video call.
If you are interested in offering a forever home to Twinkle or would like to learn more about our adoption process and how it works, please send me a private message. Either myself or one of the other Admin team members will do our best to respond back to you within a day.
And if perchance Twinkle is not right for you, or if you’re not looking for a cat right now, please consider sharing this profile, as it’s in this manner that we find most of our adopters! Thank you for your continued support of Safe Haven Egypt and our cats
